ABOUT JUSTIN

Belize - Caye Caulker - Around the World with Justin

Hi! I’m Justin and welcome to my travel blog!

Ever since I was a kid I’ve always loved traveling. Growing up in the Midwest, I had fond memories of family vacations to the Wisconsin Dells, the Jersey Shore and Orlando for Disney and Universal. I never traveled internationally until I studied abroad during my junior year at Boston College and once I did, I was addicted! I had always wanted to visit Australia and after watching season 2 of “Survivor: The Australian Outback,” spending a semester “Down Under” was a no-brainer.

The South Pacific was perfect for the outdoor adventure junkie in me. I went canyoning outside of Sydney, snorkeling in The Great Barrier Reef, trekking in Tasmania, camping in The Outback, sailing through The Whitsunday Islands, bungee-jumping in New Zealand and island hopping in Fiji.

After graduating from Boston College, I moved to Los Angeles, but still managed to squeeze in U.S. adventures whenever I could. While between jobs in 2012, I took a backpacking trip to Colombia and my passion for international travel was reignited.

Since then I’ve been lucky enough to backpack throughout Central America, South America and Southeast Asia, including whitewater rafting in Costa Rica, climbing Mayan ruins in Guatemala, swimming with sharks in Belize, hiking Machu Picchu in Peru, trekking Torres del Paine in Chile, glacier hiking in Argentina, bathing elephants in Thailand, exploring the Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia and tubing through Halong Bay in Vietnam. The best part is I’ve got so much more to do!

So why start a travel blog? I absolutely love sharing what I’ve learned from my travels and hope my blog can inspire you to pack your bags and take off, even if you’re alone! When accepting his first Emmy for “Survivor,” (yes, I’m obsessed) Jeff Probst said, “The adventure you’re ready for is the one you get.” I’m always ready for an adventure and I hope my travel blog motivates you to be ready too!
